Overview
Salesforce Access Toolkit is a Chrome extension that helps Salesforce administrators diagnose permission issues. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring complete transparency about how our extension works.
No Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data.
This extension:
- Does not track user behavior
- Does not collect analytics
- Does not store any Salesforce data
- Does not transmit any information to external servers
- Does not use third-party tracking services
How the Extension Works
Local Processing Only
- All analysis and processing happens entirely within your browser
- No data leaves your device or your Salesforce organization
- The extension only reads data temporarily to perform the requested analysis
Salesforce Access
- The extension accesses your Salesforce data only through your existing browser session
- It uses the same authentication cookies that you use to access Salesforce normally
- No additional login or authentication is required
- No credentials are stored or transmitted
Required Permissions Explanation
Our extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- activeTab and tabs: To interact with your current Salesforce tab and provide the extension functionality
- storage: To save your preferences locally in your browser (nothing is sent elsewhere)
- cookies: To access your existing Salesforce session cookies for authentication
- host_permissions for *.salesforce.com and *.force.com: To work with all Salesforce org domains
These permissions are used solely to provide the extension's core functionality and are never used to access data from other websites or for any other purposes.
Data Storage
The extension may store minimal data locally in your browser for:
- User preferences (which features you've used)
- Temporary caching of permission metadata (to improve performance)
This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is stored only in Chrome's local storage
- Can be cleared by removing the extension
- Contains no personal or sensitive information
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use any third-party services, including:
- No analytics services
- No crash reporting
- No external APIs
- No advertising networks
- No social media integrations
Open Source
The complete source code of this extension is available for inspection. You can verify that:
- No data collection occurs
- No external network requests are made
- All processing happens locally
Security
- The extension only works when you're logged into Salesforce
- It respects all Salesforce security settings and permissions
- No data is cached beyond your current browser session
- The extension cannot access data you don't already have permission to see
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how the extension handles data (which is unlikely given our no-collection approach), we will:
- Update this policy
- Notify users through the Chrome Web Store
- Require explicit consent for any new data practices
Contact Us
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or the extension's data practices:
- Review the open source code
- Contact us through the Chrome Web Store support page
- Report any concerns through GitHub issues
Summary
In simple terms: This extension is like a magnifying glass for your Salesforce permissions. It looks at data you already have access to, analyzes it locally in your browser, and shows you the results. Nothing is collected, stored elsewhere, or shared with anyone. Your privacy is completely protected.
